Happy Birthday Gracie!

Gracie pretty much had a full weekend of activities for her birthday.  She started off on Friday opening presents at home with our family and going out to eat at the country club for her actual birthday.  Saturday we prepared for the first ISU game, but prior to that we spent a couple hours in the afternoon on the lake swimming and tubing.  The kids had a great time and I actually got to sit out in the sun for the first time in a long time.  It was a nice, hot day for it.  Perfect!  Here are some pics from the game.

Gracie took her friend Raegan with her to the game.  They had so much fun, but were pretty tired.  We stayed until about the beginning of the 4th quarter.  The game was not good, but I'm glad we got to go.
Here is a picture of all three of them at the game.
It was really hot, but it didn't start until 7pm, so we only had to sit in the sun for a little bit.  Owen and Gracie have been looking forward to this since football season ended last year.  So glad that they have this opportunity!

On Sunday, Gracie had a few of her friends over for a couple hours in the afternoon.  They jumped on the tramp, played in the little pool and on the swing set, used the tumbling mats in the basement, and dressed up in all of Gracie's dresses.  The afternoon went be very quickly and they did a pretty good job of entertaining themselves.  It was nice to just have a few as opposed to lots like last year.  She invited more, but because of the holiday weekend, many were out of town.

The girls all wanted their picture taken while they were dressed up.

One of Gracie's gifts was make up and a mirror.  This is what happened later in the afternoon when Nick was watching the kids (aka sleeping) while I was doing my homework.  I do remember who this was from, so they might have it coming back to them. :)

Owen was so tired on the day of Gracie's party.  I have never seen him fall asleep while eating dinner, so this was a first.  Gracie used to do it all the time when she was deprived of naps in the afternoon and would go right to bed.  However, when I tried to put Owen to bed, he refused and got his second wind.  We went over to our friends' on the beach to sit at a campfire for awhile.  It was a great end to a fun day.

I can't believe Gracie is 5 and Owen is 3.  They really do grow up way too fast!  Happy birthday to both of my wonderful, crazy, energetic kids!
