Gracie's new boots! Santa brought Owen rice cereal Talking to Grandma Jeanne Owen talking to Grandma Deb Grandma Jeanne reading to Gracie Gracie helping scoop snow Owen in the exersaucer All of us Owen Gracie making cookies The last week has flown by! Here are just a few pictures. Gracie helped make cookies about a week ago. I think she ate a lot of the cookie dough. She takes after her mom in that sense. Owen developed an ear infection and we had to take him to the doctor. I'm glad we did, though. He has not been sleeping well at all. My parents came to visit and spent Christmas Eve here, along with my aunt, uncle, cousin and grandma. It was so nice to have them all at our house! Annie and Chad even stopped by briefly before going to his parents'. We traveled to Nick's mom's for Christmas Day. Gracie got to play outside for awhile in the new snow. Then Sunday we went to my Grandma's to celebrate xmas with that side of the family. Next weeke...

Amber and Gracie Owen and Gracie Owen and Gracie We had our first big snow fall last weekend. Gracie got to play outside down at Nick's mom's. I drove down that way intending to go to the wrestling tournament in Oskaloosa, but decided to just go to Nick's mom's because of the weather. Nick drove home later that night and it took him over two hours to get home on the interstate. I had left earlier and all the roads were fine. This past week has been busy for Owen! He is rolling over all the time now. He started doing it constantly on Tuesday 12/14 I think. He had rolled over at home about a week prior to that, but hadn't done it since. He seems so proud of himself after he does it. All smiles. He is holding his head up so much better now, too. He has done really well this week, taking two good naps at daycare then ususally one or two in the evening. Gracie is about the same. She can count to 20 now, but sometimes forgets some numbers. She is learnin...

Santa!

Owen with Santa Gracie sitting next to Santa Gracie had to wear a hat too Owen with his Santa hat Here are a few pics from the past week or so. We took Gracie and Owen to see Santa, but Gracie wasn't so sure about sitting on his lap. So we sat next to him. She was more than willing to take a candy cane from him, though. Gracie wore real underwear to school today! Her teachers said that they wanted to try it. Gracie was pretty excited, so we'll see how it went.

Owen is 3 months!

Owen in the bumbo Gracie and Ryleigh At Owen's baptism I don't know where November went. Owen is now 3 months old and continuing to grow like crazy, just like his big sister. The first weekend in November we had him baptised at church and our whole family came to celebrate. Luckily it was such a nice day and all the kids could go play outside. I took the kids to the first home ISU wrestling meet that week, then the following weekend, took them to see Gramma Deb while Nick was at work. I love how happy Gracie looks when she wakes up from her nap in the car and we're at Gramma's! We had pictures taken at Target that weekend, also. They went ok, but I didn't get as many good ones of Owen as I had hoped for. Nick started wrestling two weeks ago and has been pretty busy with that since. He g...

Happy Halloween

Owen Gracie in her costume Owen as a jack o lantern Gracie carving pumpkins Here are a few pictures from the past week. Gracie got sick on Halloween, so couldn't go trick or treating, but she got dressed up and helped hand out candy. We went to the football game on Saturday. They both did really well, but I didn't get to watch much of the game because I was watching them. We went to the orchard again on Friday with Nick's mom and her kids. Gracie had a great time with everyone. I think it's more fun with someone besides mom or dad. Thursday was Halloween at daycare, so they both got dressed up for that. We taught Gracie how to make a woopie cushion sound. It's pretty funny watching her.

Lots Going On!

Gracie Gracie Riding her trike by herself I guess we need to strap him in now. Owen in his swing We have had a very busy couple of weeks. Nick has had the last two weekends off from ISU football, which has been nice. We took Gracie and Owen out to the Orchard again last week, which was fun. Over the weekend, we went to see Nick's mom. Gracie rode horses with Nick and his mom, which she loved. Both kids had Dr. appointments on Tuesday 10/26. Gracie is off the charts with her height. She is 37 inches tall and 33 1/2 lbs. Owen weighed 13 lbs 9 oz and is 23 3/4 inches long. They both did not like having immunizations. Gracie got a flower bandaid, though, and is now obsessed with bandaids. Owen was fussy almost all day yesterday, but settled down and slept after I gave him some ibuprofen last night. After their appointments, Nick took them out for lunch at Hickory Park. That was so nice of him. Owen has started sleeping through the night! I am so excited about that. The first night wa...

Back to Work

Owen on his activity mat Reading to them in Gracie's toddler bed They look like they're both paying attention!! Going down the slide at Center Grove Orchard Feeding the goats at the orchard I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I started back to work again yesterday and Owen started daycare. The first day went really well. They said that he slept and ate well, and was pretty content for most of the day. They also said that he would fall asleep anywhere that they put him. However, he was a bit fussy for a couple hours last night. My day also went well, but was pretty uneventful. It is good to be back at work. We played softball over the weekend on both Saturday and Sunday. We lost on Sunday, but it was fun to be playing again. Gracie and Owen stayed with babysitters both days for a couple hours. Nick worked on Saturday at the football game and I watched it on TV for awhile. It was pretty hard to watch though. ISU did not do very well against Utah. On Friday I met o...

Gracie holding Owen Wearing his ISU gear proudly Gracie eating some lunch She found her way into the dryer Gracie playing with Owen Well, starting where we left off, Nick had his weekend in Kansas City. I got to go see my friends in Cedar Falls and also got to look around at the mall up there. Owen didn't sleep the best while Nick was gone, but we survived. Gracie had a great time with her Gramma and the rest of the clan down there. Nick came home on Saturday night and I think he actually beat me home from the Merrills'. Last weekend was another home football game which Nick had to work at. He came home early, though because he wasn't feeling very well. And by early, I mean 10:30pm. He wasn't even able to play softball the next day. While Nick was at work Gracie, Owen, and I got to hang out all day. It was raining, so we had to stay inside for most of the day. Luckily in the evening it started to clear up so I could take them for a walk. This past week...

3 weeks already!

Peek...playing on the activity mat Gracie thinks she needs to play on Owen's activity mat, too. And in his car seat. Sleeping Owen at about a week old It doesn't seem like it has already been 3 weeks since Owen was born. The time goes by so fast. He is much more alert than he was even last week. There are a few times each day that he will stay awake for over an hour. Most of the time he is pretty content, but it seems that he cries more than Gracie did. At night he doesn't always like going back to sleep right away, either. Owen had his 2 week dr. check up last Thursday and had already gained over 1 pound since birth. He was 9 lbs 12 oz at his appointment. He is a healthy boy and the doctor was impressed with him. He eats about every 3 hours or so. He can go 3 1/2 to 4 hours at night. Last night he was up at 10:45pm, 2:30am and then again around 6am. That's not too bad. Hopefully he will keep stretching that out. I would be very happy if he was sleepi...
