I don't know where November went. Owen is now 3 months old and continuing to grow like crazy, just like his big sister. The first weekend in November we had him baptised at church and our whole family came to celebrate. Luckily it was such a nice day and all the kids could go play outside.
I took the kids to the first home ISU wrestling meet that week, then the following weekend, took them to see Gramma Deb while Nick was at work. I love how happy Gracie looks when she wakes up from her nap in the car and we're at Gramma's! We had pictures taken at Target that weekend, also. They went ok, but I didn't get as many good ones of Owen as I had hoped for.
Nick started wrestling two weeks ago and has been pretty busy with that since. He got a week of wrestling in, then had an accident at work and hurt his finger. He had to make a trip to the ER, but hopefully it will heal quickly. His first wrestling meet is this week already. I can already tell that December is going to fly by!
A week ago, I took kids to see Courtney Russell and then went to Gramma's again, as Nick was working all day with football and then All State music. We ended up going down to Nick's mom's again on Sunday because Nick took the day off due to his finger. It was a relaxing day down there. Gracie got to ride the horses, but just in the barn because it was a little cold and windy.
My dad has been up this past week because my grandma has been in the hospital. I found out last Tuesday that she had been admitted to Methodist West due to shortness of breath. It turns out that her lungs had filled up with fluid and they are doing tests to see if she had a heart attack, I think. Hopefully everything will turn out ok and she will be able to go home soon. We have been down there a few times to see her, including Thanksgiving day. We took Gracie and Owen with us that day and I think she really enjoyed that.
We spent Thanksgiving at the Merrill's and got to see all of Nick's siblings. Ryleigh and Gracie always have fun together when they get to see each other. Then Friday Nick and I went up to Pilot Mound to see Megan and her family. That was a lot of fun and watching the kids together was pretty entertaining. Saturday, Nick worked most of the day and it was nice enough that I got to take Gracie outside to play for awhile. Then later that evening, I took Gracie and Owen to the last ISU home volleyball game. They made it through 2 sets, then Gracie needed to go home. Annie and Chad also spent the night that night.
Sunday Nick and I got to spend the whole day shopping together. We got quite a bit done, but I'm afraid I'll have to go back again to do some more shopping. We also wanted to get a tree, but didn't have time. I'm disappointed that I haven't put up lights or anything yet too. I should have done it a week ago when the weather was much better. We did get to stop again to see my grandma, though. My dad was also there with her.
Owen is still doing great. I guess he was a bit fussy yesterday for the babysitter. They think he had a tummy ache, but he was fine after we got home last night. He is able to sit supported now and is getting better at holding up his head. He is pretty content playing under his activity gym now and has found his hands, which are constantly in his mouth. He is finally getting his routine down at daycare and is starting to sleep for more that 30 minutes at a time for them. I'm afraid he might be a light sleeper like his mom. He does pretty well most of the time at home. We are getting our routine down, too. Nick feeds him in the morning while I am getting myself and Gracie ready and then he is happy in his swing until we have to leave. Then I pick up kids at 4:30 or so. Most of the time he will be asleep or I can just set him in the swing while I get dinner ready for Gracie. I can't wait until he is big enough for the exersaucer. For that past four nights I haven't heard a peep from him for over 6 hours at a time at night. Most of the time he just needs his binkie. He must be getting over his cold finally. He was so congested and had a pretty bad cough a couple weeks ago. The dr. said it was just a cold, though. He sounded terrible and hardly had a voice, which was kind of nice, but I felt bad for him. When he cries, he wails and it's very piercing. Most of the time he is pretty happy, though. He is still eating about 5 oz at a time, about every 3 hours or so during the day. Sometimes he will stretch it out to 3 1/2.
Gracie still has tons of energy, which is great. Not much is changing with her except she seems to get bigger every day. She is also putting sentences together much better now. She is still very helpful with Owen and likes to help Mom with everything. She is like a sponge and repeats a lot of things she hears. She is still sleeping really well for us, but evenings are a little difficult when she gets too tired. Switching back from daylight savings was painful.
Hopefully we will get our tree put up this week and I can get lights put up outside. I will probably get all that done and then our house will sell. We haven't had anyone else look at it though, so I think we're pretty safe. I also need to send out Christmas cards soon. We are looking forward to Christmas and I am definitely looking forward to having a week off! Only 3 1/2 weeks away!
