I guess we need to strap him in now.

Owen in his swing

We have had a very busy couple of weeks. Nick has had the last two weekends off from ISU football, which has been nice. We took Gracie and Owen out to the Orchard again last week, which was fun. Over the weekend, we went to see Nick's mom. Gracie rode horses with Nick and his mom, which she loved.
Both kids had Dr. appointments on Tuesday 10/26. Gracie is off the charts with her height. She is 37 inches tall and 33 1/2 lbs. Owen weighed 13 lbs 9 oz and is 23 3/4 inches long. They both did not like having immunizations. Gracie got a flower bandaid, though, and is now obsessed with bandaids. Owen was fussy almost all day yesterday, but settled down and slept after I gave him some ibuprofen last night. After their appointments, Nick took them out for lunch at Hickory Park. That was so nice of him.
Owen has started sleeping through the night! I am so excited about that. The first night was last Friday, 10/22. He slept from about 11:45 pm until almost 7:30am. He needed to have his pacifier put in his mouth a few times, but went all night without eating. He didn't go quite as long the next night, but he is getting the hang of it. Last night was about 10:30pm until 6:30am. It's so nice to get 6 hours of sleep! Pretty soon I'll be able to go work out in the mornings again everyday. I have a couple days this week, but it's still kind of chaotic in the morning because Nick has to leave by 6:30am. Owen is also not always cooperative in the morning. He doesn't seem to want to sit nicely in his swing. This morning he wailed for about 20 minutes while I was trying to get both Gracie and myself ready to go. He didn't even calm down in his car seat. They tell me he is content all day at daycare, though.
We have put our house up for sale. Our realtor came over last night to do all the paper work and take pictures. It should be online by the end of today. We are going through Century21. Nick stayed home on Tuesday after he dropped off the kids and worked on the house. He got so much done! We now have a functional bathroom upstairs. He also recaulked the bathtub downstairs and finished the trim in our closet. It's amazing what he can do under a little bit of pressure. The upstairs looks pretty nice now. I found pictures of the house from when we bought it. I forgot how awful it was 6 years ago. We have really done a lot to it!

This coming weekend I am taking the kids to the ISU football game. That should be interesting. We were invited to sit in the AD suite, so at least if it's cold they can sit inside. I think Nick is looking forward to seeing them while he's working. It's also a 1pm game, so it won't be such a late night for him. We are also getting Owen's pictures done on Sunday as well as some family pictures taken. Hopefully that goes better than it did a year ago with Gracie. I'm kind of dreading it though. She does fine for the pictures, just doesn't have any patience for ordering them. Then it's trick-or-treat night for Halloween on Sunday from 6-8. That should be fun. Gracie is going as a woopie cushion. It was going to be Owen's costume, but it is huge. So Gracie is going to wear it. I'll take lots of pictures. We have a dog costumer for him. He'll be cute.
