Courtwarming week

Image
Oh my gosh!  Three posts in one month!  This is such an accomplishment, and it's definitely not because I have an abundance of extra time.  I'm trying to be a little more intentional about updating, since we do have so much going on right now.  However, the seasons will come to an end eventually (sooner than I can believe) and new seasons will begin.  Last week was court warming week for the high school and Gracie played on 3 different days, for a total of 5 games between JV and varsity.  Then this week was their last regular season game at Fatima, which was a loss for every SBC team that competed on Tuesday.  Such a bummer, but their teams were pretty good.  So here we are preparing for district play next week. Gracie has gone to both days of State wrestling because her friend Nova made it!  That is so fun! Positives

My heart is full after the past week.  It seems so busy, and like so much driving and getting to the next thing, but we are so blessed.  There are not even any huge accomplishments, milestones, or events during the last couple of weeks, but taking a step back and watching the closest people in my life doing what they love is very fulfilling.  Celebrating the small daily victories means so much and taking time to really be grateful, remembering the big picture makes all the sacrifices worthwhile. Starting with a celebration for one of Gracie's Aces teammates who took a step forward in her academic and softball future.  Lucy will be continuing at Southwest Baptist and Gracie is so excited for her teammate who will be graduating from Rock Bridge High School this year!  Lucy is a great role model for Gracie and has become a really good friend, as well. All in a Weekend

Image
Almost 2 weeks ago, we had a crazy busy weekend with work, wrestling, basketball, softball, among other things.  Mizzou is back in full swing and we started tutoring just over a week ago.  Along with that comes all of the training for tutors and mentors, which was during the first week of classes.  This is always the most stressful couple weeks of the semester for me.  Add to that...all the things that the kids are doing, Nick officiating, and coaching... it's a lot.  Thankfully it's just 1-2 weeks of the semester.  This is usually the time that I get a migraine, as well, but we checked that off the week before, so already covered that during Owen's tournament and scheduling for tutoring. So, I will just dive in with the events of the past couple weeks.  Gracie has had more basketball games, both varsity and JV.  They added a JV game during the week of craziness on a night that Nick had to officiate in Eldon, Owen had wrestling practice in Columbi...
