Winning Little League State

I already posted some picture from our fun at the state tournament.  Here is a little more info regarding our road to the World Series.

Practices began around the beginning of July and the girls spent almost every day practicing or playing together from July 6th through July 29 when they won their regional.

We left for state on July 16 and won our 1st 2 games, so had a day off on Sunday before playing in the championship on Monday evening.  Little League is a little different from other tournaments.  The teams are only allowed to play one game per day, which draws it out quite a bit.  We ended up not allowing any runs during the whole state tournament, outscoring opponents 35-0.   Gracie was hitting .778 coming out of state.  All of the girls got a chance to play a lot!

We are pretty proud
State ended on a Monday evening and they had practice the following day.  We drove to and from DeSoto, MO twice during that weekend.  I drove on the way home so Nick could make all of the arrangements for regionals while we drove.  We had less than 5 days to raise money and coordinate the plans for Regionals.  A little stressful is an understatement.

The brothers
These boys are such troopers.  They had a lot of fun, too.
I must say, though, Owen truly does want to support his sister.  He did not get to go to Regionals with us, but watched all the games on ESPN.  He was still in summer school and had them turn it on.
However, when he came to watch in North Carolina, he didn't miss a game.  The other boys would often go to the park to play, but Owen always stayed to watch his sister.

Practice before going to Regionals
Nick (or maybe I did) hooked us up with Mizzou.

Some of the Mizzou softball team joined them during their practice.
Pretty awesome experience for our girls.

On the way to Indianapolis...
More to come.

I think this was actually after regionals when they knew they were going on to the World Series.
What an indescribable moment.
