July...

It has been so long since I started this update.  So much has happened since our state tournament in DeSoto, MO, which started our journey with Little League All Stars.  I will try to organize this the best I can.  I will leave all post season softball things for it's own post.  It has been quite a month...

Here is a picture from back in June when Owen attended the Tyreek Hill football camp in Columbia

And there was more baseball in June...I think this was his last game.

I'm pretty sure Owen walked almost every time he was at-bat in this game.

Safe at 3rd

Getting some catching time in

Then at the end of June it rained and flooded.  Kind of hard to get to work when the roads are closed.

I think we were heading to Iowa in this picture.
We spend a weekend with family in Muscatine.

Finally a little down time with the horses.
I was shocked when Thor was so cooperative with Nick.

4th of July at the Lake!
What a great weekend!  Annie and Chad came down and we had a lot of fun on the 4th at Reefer's.  We had a great boat ride over to their house.  It was a fantastic afternoon!

Ice cream was definitely needed.

Chad gets some too!

Owen took a nap

but not for very long

It was so great to see Reefers.  I don't remember the last time we were all together!

And the next day we had fun at the neighbor's house.

Chilling in the sun

Tower of people
It never lasted long, but it was fun.

Another try...success!

Having neighbors with a pool is so great.  We spent the 4th of July here and watched fireworks from home.  What a fun weekend!

More softball...one more tournament before the focus shifted to Little League.
We spend a weekend playing with Texas Glory again.  However, Nick was asked to coach the 16u girls and Gracie was put on the 14u team.  Very strange, but oh, well.

Gracie on her bucket.

How dirty can you get, Gracie?
Washing these uniforms is a challenging task.

Getting ready to go.

Stealing second.

"2 down!!"

The road to the Little League Series begins.

The girls started practicing together in preparation for state during the last week of July.  Here is a little tidbit of the beginning of their journey.  Their state tournament was July 16-19 in DeSoto, MO, which is about an hour south of St. Louis.  They outscored their opponents 35-0, I believe.  They were not really challenged until Regionals in Indiana.  But I will get to that in a different post.  At the conclusion of the state tournament, they went right into practices and just kept going.  They really didn't get a break from each other until after Regionals.

Gracie's goals
She probably isn't happy that I found these in her room, but I just can't believe the focus and passion she has for this sport.  She writes out everything and has very high expectations for herself at 12 years old.  I was not even aware of how to set goals when I was that age.

#10 makes me laugh.  I knew what she meant, she just worded it wrong.
I asked her about it and she laughed, too.
Play Fearlessly!
Be Fierce!

During their state tournament, several of them went ziplining on the morning they had off.  It was pretty fun and Nick even went.  They have really become pretty good friends and their brothers are also enjoying the ride!

Waiting for their turn to ride the zipline

They still like each other.

Owen is ready to go!

The girls are ready too!

After wining a game at state.

There is a lot more to come for this softball team.  They ended up winning state and moving on to Regionals in Indianapolis, Indiana.  I will fill in during the next blog post.  It has been quite the ride so far.  I still can't believe it had been so long since I updated.

These are my ELP people at work!
We did a team building activity at Breakout COMO.
It was pretty fun and we were successful!

Owen used his drone to take a picture of the barn.
Pretty cool shot of part of our property.

MORE TO COME!!!!  I won't let it go a month and a half again.
