Another School Year Comes to an End

I have seen so many pictures of "last days" on social media this week.  I didn't realize the last day of elementary school was such a big deal.  I'm afraid I am not very good at being sentimental, though. Yes, I am so happy that Gracie is going to be in middle school.  She is such a great person/student/everything and I know she has so many more great things coming.  However, she is so laid back about the changes about to happen, that I don't think it's necessary to bring any more attention to it.  I'm really looking forward to helping her through the next several years, because I know they will be tough at times.   So, here she is, ready to be a 6th grader! I think I'm getting a little attitude from her here. There have been so many parties, field trips, awards, etc during the past couple weeks; I can't even keep them straight.  I did not go to the end of the year award assembly, but did make it to the D.A.R.E. Lots of Fun So Far in May

We are only a little over a week into May and a lot has happened.  Since Easter, we have not slowed down a bit.  Gracie has continued to have softball every week and Owen is still going to his practices.  He completed in a mile run with me and they have had some riding time, as well.  We have a new pet, but I haven't taken a picture yet. I'm not sure if we can call this one a pet.  Owen was excited to play with Mr. Snapper, though. He needed to go back to the pond. However, the other pet we acquired does resemble this one.  I took the kids flower shopping with me and Owen came across a little box turtle at the nursery.  We ended up bringing him home.  Owen found a large plastic tote, put dirt in it and has been feeding him vegetables and making sure he has water.  He is cuter than this prehistoric looking creature.  I don't think we have a name yet.
