Spring Activities
We have been busy since the beginning of March. We made a trip down to the Ozarks again, and this time Nick joined us so he could meet River. The weather was beautiful again and we were able to go hiking, play a little basketball, and eat out at a restaurant on the lake. It was so good to see our family again!
During March, I also completed my internship for grad school. So I am DONE!!!!! I am so relieved to finally have this done. It has been a long four years, and now that I've had no reading or papers to write in the past month, it's strange to have that free time. My transcripts have been sent and my diploma should arrive soon. Very excited!
Now that spring is here, we are starting to get busy again with activities. Nick is coaching Gracie's softball team and I'm one of Owen's coaches for t-ball. We started practices in April, and they have both had several games. They got out the stuff prior to games and I had to remind Gracie where she is supposed to stand when she is batting. The weather was yucky for awhile, but so far this week has been awesome. Honestly, I was dreading coaching a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds. But it is actually pretty fun working with most of the boys. There has been no crying, so I'll call it successful so far. Other than the constant request for water breaks and playing in dirt, it's going pretty well. Owen was pretty excited to be on the team and listened better than I thought he would. He was so tired after the first practice that he fell asleep on the couch all by himself when I went to dry Gracie's hair after her shower.
I didn't go to Gracie's first practice, but Nick said that he had two criers because they got hit with a ball. Gracie was not one of them, but came back looking like she had rolled around in dirt for an hour. She seemed like she had fun, though. Gracie is still doing both dance and gymnastics, so her weeks are very full. She has figured out that right now, Sundays and Tuesdays are the only days that she doesn't have anything going on (besides church).
School is going well for both kids. Gracie was praised by her teacher at her conference. She still needs help with organization, but hopefully she'll figure that out. I went to Owen's kindergarten parent meeting. I can't believe that he has already had kindergarten round up! We still have to decide whether he will go to early kindergarten or regular kindergarten, and hopefully his teachers will guide us with that. He's in the same boat that Gracie was when she started, with the late summer birthday. We'll see how he does next week.

This is just a sneak peak at our spring so far. There is more to come. I had really good intentions when I finished school to update our blog more often. But it seems that the only thing that has changed is that I go to bed a lot earlier and get more sleep instead of studying until 11pm or midnight. But I'm still glad to be done. I just have to get all my licensing stuff completed now.
