We are still currently living at my Grandma's, but will be moving to an apartment in Ankeny next Wednesday. We are pretty excited about that and Gracie is really excited about the pool we will be able to use. My grandma has been wonderful, but we are ready to have our own space again. I'm sure she is ready to get her house back, too. Our apartment in Ankeny is clear on the north side and right on highway 69, so it will be as convenient as possible to drive to Huxley. We have leased the apartment for six months. At the end of six months, our goal is to have a house built northeast of Huxley on a 3.5 acre lot. We are still in the process of purchasing the lot and deciding on a floor plan with our builder. If all goes through ok, we will begin building sometime in June.

May has flown by and I can't believe we have been out of our house in Huxley for over a month. The drive has been inconvenient, but otherwise, we have adjusted. School is out for the summer, but I will start summer school classes in a couple weeks for the students who have failed classes. I will be working up to 10 hours weekly, which will be nice. Our kids will stay in day care through the summer, but I can take them out whenever I want if we feel like going to the pool or something.

Gracie and Owen are doing great. Gracie is riding her bike all over the place and when it is raining out, she rides around in Grandma's garage. She has gone "running" with me a couple times. When she sees me get back from running, she wants to go, too. So I sometimes let her run around the block with me when I get done. It has been so nice to finally get some warm weather. Gracie has also been waking up earlier because it is getting light out be 6am. This is kind of inconvenient on the weekends, but oh, well. At least she is a happy morning person.
Owen now has 6 teeth. He had two more come through on the bottom on May 12 and 17, and finally the other top one came through on May 24. That one has been bugging him for a long time. He is sleeping pretty well and goes to bed at about the same time as Gracie, but will sleep longer in the morning. The sun doesn't bother him very much. Owen is able to stand by himself for quite awhile, now, but hasn't taken any steps yet. He can push the shopping cart and Gracie's little stroller around by himself. He is eating all real food now and very rarely will eat baby food. He likes almost everything we give him and is a huge fan of most fruit, especially strawberries and watermelon. He can eat Cheerios all by himself and will do the same with pieces of bread/toast. He is drinking out of a sippy cup when we have meals, but still drinks about 4 bottles daily. Owen got his first haircut last night. Nick just did it at home and used his clippers. Owen looks a bit different, but it was needed. His hair was growing over his ears. I had pictures taken last week at Target before his hair cut. His pictures turned out really well this time. He was much more cooperative this time than he was at 2 months old.

We don't have a lot planned for the holiday weekend, but it will be nice to relax. The next week will be busy again, as we move to Ankeny on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to getting organized and being able to access my own stuff again. Then next weekend is Dam to Dam and I am really hoping for nice weather. Hopefully the run goes ok. The following weekend we have two weddings to go to, then the 18th, we are having a baby shower for Nick's sister, Mary. So June will be a busy month. Plus we hope to start building sometime. I think that's about all for now.
