18 months old!

The last month has passed so quickly! I can't believe we're halfway through March. Gracie has had her 18 month Dr. visit and everything checked out ok. She is almost 27 lbs. and she is 33 1/4 inches tall. She will be 3 ft before we know it. She had two shots, which she took like a champ. Nick said that she just gave the nurse a dirty look like, "how dare you!" No crying at all. We have been so lucky with a such a healthy, tough little girl. She has also started saying more and more words that are understandable. There is still a lot of babbling going on, but she is starting to be able to repeat what we say. Guess we'll have to start watching that now. She has started to say Jasmine's name, as well as many other words. She can say apple, nana (banana), some animals, and some colors. This past weekend, we got rid of her binkie, which was not that bad. She was kind of upset the first night, but is getting used to it. She was only using it to go to sleep, anyway.
This past weekend we made a trip down to Nick's mom's and it was so nice out. FINALLY! Gracie spent much of the day outside and even got to ride horses with her dad. She sat on top of Bullseye and brushed him and rode Bo for a little bit. She found the barn cats to play with and loved jumping on the trampoline. Nick said that we might have to invest in one eventually.
The weekend before, I took Gracie and my Grandma down to the Ozarks to see my parents and sister. It was also a very nice weekend down there. Well worth the drive. Annie and I got to go shopping for a little bit while Gracie stayed with Grammy. We found some new clothes for Gracie at the outlet mall, as she has grown out of most of her 18 month clothes. It was even warm enough for Gracie to wear a new pair of shorts and a t-shirt in the afternoon! She loved being outside and not having to put a coat on. I think it was over 65 degrees out... a much needed change from the Iowa weather we've had.
The last weekend of February was state dual wrestling in Cedar Rapids. Gracie spent the weekend with Gramma and I went to watch wrestling by myself. Ballard ended up getting third at the meet. Nick and I drove home together on Saturday night, but didn't get home until pretty late. Nick went to his mom's to get Gracie on Sunday and I spent the day with one of my friends. Wrestling is finally over. It seems like such a long season, but I know Nick loves it. Next year will be interesting with two kids to take care of. Maybe Gracie will be able to sit still for a period of time by then, but I highly doubt it. She still is on the go all the time.
I am into my second day of spring break and the weather is supposed to be decent this week. I am hoping to get some cleaning done, especially outside. The yard is mess. Gracie is staying at daycare for the week still. She loves to go. She still runs away from me when I drop her off and I have to bribe her to go home. She has so much fun with her friends and all the stuff that they have there. Nick and I take her almost everywhere with us and she usually does so well. When we go out to eat with her, she gets very distracted, however. She doesn't eat nearly as much as she probably would at home, but otherwise she is very well behaved. She still likes the word "No!" but usually will comply with what we ask of her. She likes to b helpful and can throw garbage away and helps put her toys away before bed. She still loves to read and this is about the only time we can get her to sit for any length of time. She will read for a half hour with us if we let her. I hope this keeps up.
Things are going well with me. I didn't get to see my doctor at my last check up because she was delivering three babies that afternoon, but the nurse told me everything looks ok. I have my next appointment on 3/31 and we will get to see the ultra sound to find out the gender of Britton Baby #2. I am so excited for that! I have been able to keep running and have been going in the morning again. I feel like I'm showing a lot sooner than I did with Gracie, however. I had Nick go up in our garage to get out my tub of maternity clothes. I found that most of them are for summer, though, and it's not quite warm enough yet. Guess I'll have to go shopping. We will let everyone know when we find out on 3/31!!!!
