Eight Months

The past few weeks have gone very quickly. I can't believe it is May already and Gracie is eight months old! We were at the doctor's office two weekends in a row. The first time Gracie had an ear infection, then the following weekend we were back after Gracie had a pretty high fever for a few days. At first they thought she might have had pnemonia, but after she broke out in a rash the doctor thought it might be something called Roseola. They did chest x-rays and took blood. Gracie hated the x-rays. That was not fun. She was on antibiotics for two weeks and developed diaper rash in the meantime. She seems to be back to normal now, except for the diaper rash. This seems to be getting better, though. I feel bad for her!
Her illness didn't slow her down very much. She has started pulling herself up on everything. She seems to understand "no," but just looks at me and smiles or laughs, then goes back to what she was doing...I'm in trouble. She has started eating a lot more regular food at daycare, but is still content with baby food, too. She eats almost everything you put in front of her. Last weekend it appeared that she learned how to wave, but she hasn't done it since, so it must have been a fluke. She also fell asleep in her high chair last weekend after dinner. Nick got that on video. It was pretty funny. She has learned to clap her hands together and is still content playing by herself most of the time. At the end of the day she is a bit more needy for attention.
We are getting picures at Target this weekend again. Hopefully the session will go as well as it did for her photos in November. She's pretty happy most of the time, so I'm not too worried. I don't think we have much planned this weekend besides that. Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can get outside. The next few weeks will be busy with ISU graduation and wrapping up the school year for me. I'm sure May will fly by!
