Staying with Gramma

She looks so tiny still!

At the mall with the girls
The past two weeks have been busy with wrestling, shopping and staying with Gramma and Grandpa Merrill. This past weekend Gracie stayed all night with Nick's parents. Nick was coaching wrestling and I got to go watch finals by myself and go out with Nick after the state tournament. It was a pretty exciting weekend and Ballard had five state champions and tallied 220 team points to win the state title. The second place team had 88 1/2 points. Gracie did fine with her grandparents, but didn't sleep as well as she usually does at night. I suppose we'll have to let her try again sometime so she can redeem herself. :)
The week before she got to go shopping and helped Mary find her prom dress. She did pretty well at the mall and enjoyed the time with her Gramma. Gracie does really well on the floor now, so we put her blanket down and she was very content playing there. She is sitting on her own and doesn't fall over very much anymore. We still have to watch her, though. She has also learned that she can push herself backward when she is on her tummy. She'll be moving forward before we know it!

We have started feeding her cereal every night around dinner time and she does well with this. She just seems to know what to do whenever we introduce something to her. She seems so small in her high chair. Her head barely sticks up over the tray. She lets us know what she wants most of the time and still is a pretty happy baby. She will go in for her 6 month check up next week at the doctor. Nick had her on the scale with him last week and said that she is over 17 pounds, so we'll see how much weight she has put on. She is starting to outgrow her 3-6 month clothes. We'll probably be able to start some more real food with her too. Pretty exciting!
I think that's all for now. We have the state dual wrestling meet in Cedar Rapids this coming weekend and then the season is done. We're staying there all weekend and Gracie is making the trip, too. Hopefully we'll continue to do really well and wrap up this title again, too. It has been really fun for Nick this year!
