June has begun...
We are through the first part of June, and so far Gracie has spent zero days at home. Nick joined her by driving a van full of girls to Texas for the weekend, but they weren't even in the same vehicle. I'm sure that she will be happy to be home after two weeks of nothing but softball. At least I hope so. Owen and I had a productive weekend at home; lots of cleaning, a little shopping, and some down time. We watched movies and relaxed a bit. He has also started weights, football workouts, and wrestling practices/open mats for Southern Boone.
Doing what she does in Texas.
Hannah and Gracie giving the thumbs up after Top Speed training and performance
I really don't think they enjoy this, but assume they are getting pretty good workouts.
Gracie is almost done with her two week stay in KC. They had 4 days of practices, a drive to Texas, 3 days of (7) games, and then the drive home. Now, two more days of practice, camp and then another tournament in KC. These two weeks are so exhausting for these girls. On June 15, she will get to sleep in her own bed for a few days.
Before that...

Memorial Day weekend
We left early on Sunday, May 25 to pick up Gracie from practice in KC and headed up to Spencer, IA to see family. There were so many people there to see Grandma Britton! We met for pizza with the whole family and stayed there one night. The next morning, we went to a Memorial Day Service, honoring several veterans. Grandpa Britton was recognized at the service/ceremony and a flag will go to his gravesite to honor him and his service. Nick's uncle Rick lives in the area, so we also stopped to see him before heading back to Missouri. It was really great catching up with some people we had not seen for a very long time.
Great grandkids with Grandma Britton
It seems that the younger ones didn't want anything to do with the pictures.
Here are the grandkids who were there.
A few missing, but it was a pretty good showing.
All of us, minus a couple who didn't get there in time.
Ryleigh and Gracie
This is what the ride to and from looked like.
Both of them actually slept a lot.
Driving to the Lake with Ruby.
Ruby stayed with my parents for a week while we were in Iowa for the weekend.
We just didn't have time to get back down there to pick her up during the week.
And before that, we went to watch state track.
Hudson Talley ran in 4 events. This is his brother, Knox, with Owen and me.
I actually love watching track meets and am so happy for Hudson!
He placed 6th in the 100m! 8th and 7th in two other relays. Knox was an alternate, but ended up running in the 4x100 finals with the relay team! So glad that Owen decided to go to practices with the team this spring.
