Another Academic Year is Complete
The past few weeks have been pretty busy wrapping up the academic school year. We had Mizzou's graduation weekend, softball tournament in Omaha, Mother's Day boating, Basketball Tournament in Branson, 8th grade promotion, and last day of school.
A couple of my favorites
Maya and Syd on their day.
My awesome tennis players.
The team had an excellent academic semester, posting a Team GPA of 3.86; highest ever.
I will miss these girls!
We went to the NCAA softball regional game that we hosted.
Owen got some screen time on ESPN.
🤣
Feels like summer is coming!
Days are getting longer and warmer.
Sunrises
Still my favorite
Coming up in the northeast. I love this time of year.
Boating on Mother's Day
After graduations at Mizzou, Owen and I went to the Lake to see my parents. Gracie's tournament in Omaha was the same weekend, so Nick spent that time with her. It was a pretty relaxed day and we got to enjoy some time in the sun.

Aces competed Saturday and Sunday and made it to the semifinals of the Championship bracket. They were top 4 out of 32 teams. Not a bad weekend. Gracie did well and hit .500 with 2 homeruns; no errors in the field. They were so close to making it to the championship game! They finished the weekend 4-2. The Aces 18u team ended up winning the championship game in the high school age combined tournament.
I love seeing her like this!
Time behind the plate
Getting signs
Making a play
Gracie is splitting time between catching and third base right now. There are two catchers on the team and they alternate time behind the plate, which is good for tournaments that they play 3 or more games in a day.
Gracie and Ella
She is getting to know the girls a lot better and starting to really enjoy this team. She will be spending a lot of time with them this summer.
Back at Home
Quality time with mom.
It's strawberry season!
Lloyd's Farm did not disappoint!
It's a process.
So good!
Even the strawberries at the grocery store are pretty good right now.
Basketball fun in Branson
First games
Mini Golfing
Gracie definitely should stick with other sports.
Fun times with teammates.
Six of the 12 that went this past weekend.
More games
It was a rough start over the weekend. Gracie got quite a bit of playing time on Saturday and not as much on Sunday, but played well when she was in. It was a fun weekend, just like last year. Lots of laughs and a bit of basketball. Gracie won't be able to play very many tournaments with them, but it's fun when she gets to.
Last days of Middle School!
Owen is being promoted to a high schooler! We had his 8th grade promotion night on Tuesday and today he is officially done with middle school! Two high schoolers in the fall!
Owen with his principal.
Shaking hands with the Superintendent
Waiting patiently.
8th grade friends
More friends
I think there are some pics of the Bentlage crew, but I haven't seen them yet.
My parents came and stayed with us.
Sibling love. 🩷
Last Day!
Officially done with school for the summer...Now we tackle June; we may not have time to sleep.
Gracie had her first Aces mini camp this past weekend. She stayed with Kali, one of her teammates. I think everything went well, but she was exhausted when she came home. We will drop her off at the same place on Sunday and she will be gone from home for over 10 days. Starting June 3 - 3 more days of camp/practice, June 6- travel to Texas, June 7-9 - TX state Championships just north of Dallas and travel back to KC. June 10-11 more Aces practices and then another tournament in KC starts on the 13th. June will be crazy. We're going to try to get her home on the 12th so she can play summer league with her SBC softball team. We'll see if we can get that done.
Owen starts summer football workouts next week at 6:30am 3 days/week. Then he leaves for Pennsylvania on June 9 and is gone for a week for wrestling. Nick will fly out on the 13th to join him for a few days.
That's just the first two weeks of June...
