Celebrating Success

Gracie finished the season with some pretty nice accolades, including her #1 goal of making 1st team all-state as a catcher.  I just don't have the right words to describe how proud we are of Gracie for so many reasons.  She is not afraid to set her goals at the highest level possible and go after them with the day-to-day grind, doing the little things that make you better.  After coming up a little short of first team last year, this is what she set out to accomplish.  We were finally able to celebrate a great softball season last week with our banquet. Gracie's 1st Team All-State graphic List of All-State honorees There are 3 catchers who were in our district that made this list, either on 1st or 2nd team.  The competition was so high this year in our district.  There were 6 girls from just the Fatima team who made all-state, and I think 4 from Blair Oaks. Sixteen of these girls on the state team are from the mid-Missouri area.  Kind of crazy.  ...

Wrapping up Fall with Some Fun

We finally have school pictures for both of the kids.  Gracie's were on time; Owen's were not.  It took forever for the company to respond to me regarding Owen's pics.  So here they are... Owen, 8th grade Gracie 10th grade The first quarter of the 23-24 school year has come and gone.  November is here, and the next few weeks will pass so quickly!  I'm counting down to Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Time is such a complicated concept.  I so want it to slow down, but at the same time, there are so many things that we're looking forward to.   Time goes terribly slow when we're waiting for things to happen, but then when it's done, I'm always thinking, how is it over already???  When you're in the grind of some of the tough stuff, like the crazy busy schedules and travel, it can be exhausting, but stepping back and looking at the big picture, we are so blessed with the opportunities we have and the means to get them accomplished.  I'm sur...
