Earlier This Spring...
So, I realized that this dates back to early May and possibly even April. It had been awhile since my last post. Little League games are almost done and the All-Star roster has been decided and they will start practices next week. This is the 12U Little League team that represents Daniel Boone and will compete in a state tournament. Should they do well and win the state tournament, the team will move on to the regional tournament, which is in Indianapolis. They will rely heavily on fundraising and donations to get them there. Gracie has been looking forward to this for a couple years now. She is pretty excited about the next few weeks.

Early May scrimmages and games...
I'm pretty sure this was a scrimmage back in May.
Gracie's teammate, Lillian, is verifying, that yes, Gracie, that was a home run.
Guest playing with Texas Glory 06 in St. Louis.
We had a pretty long weekend of driving back and forth for this one.

Spring Concert for choir
I can't believe I haven't posted this yet. They got to have a spring concert on May 8. I got to go to this while Nick took Owen to his last soccer game. Luckily it was streamed from the school, so Nick could watch it from afar.

Gracie, Hayden, and Sadie
Love these three.

"Gracie, I need you to score."

BASEBALL
I remember this! The picture does not do justice to the actual event.
Owen was safe, that's what matters!
I think this was the moment just before the mess at the plate.
I'm also noticing that Owen is still wearing a hoodie, which seems like such a long time ago that we had that cool of weather.
Getting some catching time in.
I just wanted to note the size of the batter compared to Owen.
Owen's team moved up to 12U this season, which technically means that Gracie could have played with their team. That seems a little crazy. So they were playing against some boys who are going into 8th grade. Owen's team has done pretty well, despite some of the obvious size advantages some teams had.

An unexpected visit to Iowa
Early in May, Nick's grandpa Clifford became pretty sick and couldn't recover. We lost a great person very suddenly and unexpectedly. Cliff and Charlotte had just returned from their winter in Texas and had just set up their home at the campground. God sometimes has a plan and strange way of bringing family together. We saw some of the Britton side of the family that we had not seen in a very long time.
We stayed with my sister, since the funeral was in Woodward and visitation was in Ankeny. Annie's was a pretty central location for us to stay.
Owen got to ride their 4-wheeler that he actually fits on.
Pretty sure he loved every minute.
soccer in boots...
Owen and Lucas at the visitation
Gracie and Ryleigh; they can make themselves look good.
Sunshine after days of rain.
This was so needed. I remember seeing the sun for the first time after over a week of rain and clouds.
More softball
I think this was a tournament in Columbia that we placed 2nd in. We had really wanted to win, again, but came up a little short.
Gracie directing from the shortstop position.
Getting ready to run. Looks like she might be stealing.
Giving some support to the pitcher.

Gracie...
I don't even know when this is from, but I'm pretty sure this is Gracie's lunch table group at school
Oklahoma and WCWS
What an amazing weekend! We had so much fun!
Gracie with some of her teammates at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, OK.
The whole team on Saturday night of the WCWS
$5 ears of corn. They were so good though!
Oh, yeah! We went to play softball... Some really late night softball.
Playing shortstop.
Sunday night win at about 12:30am.
We played again the next morning at 8am. Ugh.
This was Owen at the beginning of the 11:30pm game
Another pic of the late night game.
Laundry...Which jersey do you think is Gracie's????
I'll give you one guess.
More shorstop...She must have played here a lot this weekend.
Here's some work at catcher.
Running down to back up 1st base.
The result of the weekend, wasn't the greatest. I think the girls only one 1 game of the 5 that they played. It was a little disappointing, but I think the experience they had going to the world series is something that they'll never forget. They had a lot of bonding time and developed really good friendships that will last a long time.
