Halloween 2020
This was the strangest Halloween that we have ever had. I guess that goes right along with all of 2020. We failed to carve pumpkins this year, but we did manage to buy some. Owen enjoyed going with me to get that done. We weren't even home for Halloween night. Instead of trick or treating, we went out to eat at Wicked Willie's with Gracie softball team at the lake. It was fun despite the break in our traditional freezing evening of walking around getting candy. The kids were content with me giving them two bags of candy to eat.
Owen did get his Fall party at school, only to be notified at the end of the day that they would not be returning for over a week due to quarantining of teachers and students in the elementary. The whole school was shut down for a week. This year has been so crazy.
Owen is on the left and I'm not sure who his friend is on the right.
I'm not even sure what Owen is. He is just creepy I guess.

Until the night before, Gracie had no interest in dressing up for Halloween. Then Hayden wanted to go as Sully and Mike from Moster's Ink. So this is what they (mostly Hayden) cam up with for the dress up day at school. Gracie's won 7th place. She laughed about it because Hayden created the whole thing and put it together.
This was taken the weekend of Socktoberfest I think. These two are teammates on Gracie's softball team. I took them and Owen to the Mizzou football game the day before their tourney.
They played a one-day tourney in Columbia on October 25. I wrote about that in the previous post. I didn't include this pic, though from the same weekend.
Final (scheduled) tournament of Fall 2020
We spend the weekend at the lake to play at a new sports complex south of Osage Beach. It was a pretty fun weekend and the girls got some wins. It was a little chilly, but at least the second day was sunny. They won the tournament.

Gracie's team. They're missing a couple, but they played well together.
And one more tournament.
We ended up going to the same fields as the previous weekend for just a one-day tournament. However, it ended up being 70 degrees, so I was fine with one more.
They ended up tying for first with a Stealth team from the Columbia area.
Run scored.
Waiting at 3rd
More catching
Sleepy on the way home
Moving on to basketball
Gracie had 3 weeks of practices before her first games. However, almost half of the girls on her team were quarantined for two weeks, so games had to be pushed back. They started playing a week ago and had 3 games last week. So far they are 4-0.
Gracie with Hayden before their game.
Gracie used to be as tall as Hayden. Not anymore.
I didn't get to see the first two games in person because I was quarantined. That's a whole different story, but thankfully one of the other parents streamed it on Facebook live so I could watch. I did get to go on Friday night last week and Gramma Deb we here too, so she got to watch. It was a really good game and a lot of fun.
Gracie got to start!
Gracie guarding her friend Kenadie. Kenadie is the pitcher on Gracie's softball team and goes to a school in Columbia. Gracie had been looking forward to playing her all week.
Our girls came out on top in a tough overtime game. They went into overtime last year when we played them, also. This is Hayden (24), Sadie (10), and Gracie; excited after the game.
Gracie #30 had a great game!
I could not believe how much she has improved since last year.
Gracie and Hayden again.

Fun with Grandma.
Gracie and Deb spent most of the morning hours baking on Saturday. It was awesome to see them together. They got a lot done. Gracie had her list of things she wanted to make and they did it all.
Owen was outside building a cat house with Nick and came to join when it was safe to eat some dough.
They made a mess!
So, after the fun weekend with Deb, I drove her back to the airport and went straight to Gracie's game in California, MO. Nick finally got to go coach wrestling with Owen and all is well with the world for today. We're not sure about tournaments yet for Owen. I don't know if any schools are putting out schedules yet for youth competition. Hopefully he'll get to compete this year.
Gracie's team ended up winning again last night and they have one more game this week, tonight. Next week is another packed week. Gracie has 3 basketball games, 2 afternoons of rehearsals for their musical and then their performance on Saturday 12/5. Owen will still have practices and and Nick starts officiating for wrestling meets. It is going to be non-stop action until winter break!
