Finally Fall
Visiting Iowa again! Back on September 20, we drove up to see our newest member of the family. The kids and I stayed with Annie on Friday night and drove over to Newton on Saturday to see Charleigh! Owen is crazy about her and was very content holding her for awhile. Here are some pics from the day.

After we saw Julie and Sawyer at the hospital we went to eat lunch with all the family and then Josh opened up their gym for the kids to play for awhile. There was a lot going on and they seemed to have a lot of fun.

Owen doesn't need his dad to torture him, I guess. Josh knows how to tickle, also.
Sawyer also joined in and thought it was pretty funny.

This is Owen after the afternoon at the gym.
He was pretty warn out.
After our fun filled afternoon, we went back to spend another night at Annie's and then got up early the next morning to head back south. It seems like such a long time ago already. It rained most of the time while we were there, but it was great to see everyone.
And then... more football. We drove through a lot of rain on our way back to Missouri, but by 3pm, it has stopped for the most part, and Owen got to play his game.

Another run.
This was a pretty fun game to watch. The two teams were pretty even in ability.
Another perspective...zoomed out with Nick watching on.
Nick got to help out here as the 7 yard marker for rushing
Aww...so happy they all get along.
Since then, we've added more to our family, but I'll save that for the next post.
Tom, Nutter, and Custer all cozy together.
Nick can still hold Gracie up.
Stunting with her dad.
Owen took this picture on my phone.
Not bad. He thought the clouds looked really pretty.
Another softball weekend! A couple weeks ago Gracie's team played in Kansas City in an open tournament with a lot of "A" teams. They did pretty well on the first day, winning 2 of the 3 games and went into day 2 as one of the only "B" teams in the top 10 of 23 teams. Owen had a football game, so I didn't make it there until the evening and was hoping to see the 4th game on Saturday, but it was rained out. The following morning, they played a pretty tough team to start and ended up losing, but they worked pretty hard.

Do you see that fence? It is keeping balls from going over into a creek behind it. There was a girl on the other team who hit a line drive into the third tier of that fence. It was pretty impressive.

This was the most recent tournament, here in Columbia on October 6. Our girls won this tournament.
I love this!
One more football game
I didn't get to see Gracie's team win their tournament again, but was able to see Owen play his last football game of the season. It was kind of a yucky day, but he had fun. Pretty good group of boys.

And this is me helping. I look so excited to be standing in the rain.
After all this was done, we went back to Columbia to watch Gracie scrimmage with a 14u team (after playing 3 games). This was also in the rain. I think she played better in the scrimmage than she did all day during competition. Needless to say, we were all exhausted after getting home.
I can't remember when this was, but we had a little campfire again.
The kitties decided to join us.

I think this takes us through October 6. Nick and I had an anniversary somewhere in there, which we did not get to spend together, but I actually saw him at the football game, so that must count for something. I have school pictures to post, also, and will hopefully get those up soon!
Gracie has two more tournaments this month and then we will be done with fall softball. However, we will go right into basketball and wrestling. Maybe we'll have a week of relaxation!
