Finally, Some Warmth!
We only had to fly to a different state. I realize this has been a couple weeks ago already, but it was a much needed break from the gross weather we have had since January. Florida was fantastic for a couple days, and we returned to rain and cold, but since then it has gradually improved.
Gracie ready to leave Missouri
Our flight was delayed by about 1 1/2 hours, but we still were able to leave on Thursday evening. It was pretty late when we arrived, but we were greeted by Deb, Norm, and Tony when we got there. Deb was able to take a day off from work while we were there and we spent that day hiking and exploring. The kids spent at least a couple hours over at the pool later in the afternoon. They actually spent more time in the rather large hot tub, because the pool isn't heated. But they were happy, so it was all good.
Hiking at a park. We arrived at a lookout tower.

Gracie and Gramma.
Owen was also very hesitant to try out the water.
Still playing in the sand.
We found Miss Vicky's, and I had crab cakes of course! It was a fun afternoon and we all got a little too much sun. I did not care, though.
A dolphin came to join us for lunch. That was pretty awesome. It swam right up to the sea wall.

Gracie and Amber attempted this, as well. They weren't quite as successful.
A day at the beach!
We made sure to get some sunscreen on everyone the second day we were there.
Gracie is getting ready to go in here.
Owen trying out the water.
It was a bit too cold for me.
Playing catch with the football
Owen tried out Tony's skim boards. I think that's what they are called. Tony had to show me on youtube what you're supposed to do with them. I'm glad our kids are tolerant of cold water.
Chillin' in the hammock.
Nick also relaxed here for quite awhile.
Still playing with the football.
Gracie giving the boards a try.

More fun in the ocean

Unfortunately our time there was short and we had to go home. I'm so glad that we decided to take the trip, though. It was kind of a last minute decision when we found tickets at a really good price.
Heading back to Missouri early Saturday morning
Back to Reality
On the way home from the airport in St. Louis, Owen was sick. We tried to have breakfast when we got back, but that didn't work out so well for him. Luckily, that was a very short ordeal and he felt better the next day. The following week we were playing a little bit of catch-up, but the kids got a lot of their school work done before we left. They only had to miss 1 1/2 days of school, so that was nice.
Wrapping up Wrestling
Last weekend was a busy one. Mizzou Softball had their first home games and we had the banquet for Southern Boone Club wrestling. So proud of Owen being named the "Most Coachable Wrestler."
He may not compete in a lot of tournaments, but he always wants to go to practices and do the right things. He may argue a lot with me at home, but at least he is receptive to others telling him what he needs to be doing to get better.
Love this. My two guys.
Softball!
Gracie was pretty excited last weekend to go to work with her dad.
They let her help with pre-game field maintenance.
Owen's turn for PBS Assembly
Owen received the Star Student Award for March.
I am looking forward to baseball, softball, Easter, and everything else that comes with spring! Gracie's games begin in April and we're not sure about Owen's yet, but probably May.
