A Week of Painting...and Other Things
The past week has involved going to Ashland almost every night to get painting done. I think the only night we did not go in the past week was Tuesday, when Gracie had her first fall softball games. But we got it done! I'm so glad Deb was able to come up to help. It would have taken a lot longer without her! It is pretty much done now, except for maybe a few touch ups that we can do later. Deb stayed for three days and two nights to help, and it was so appreciated. I can't wait to take a vacation to go see her again!
Owen's room.
He is pretty excited about the football field. I think his room took the longest.
This is our master bedroom. It wasn't quite done when I took the picture. The color is called Dusty Olive, but you really can't see it in this picture. I didn't take pictures of the master bath or closet, they are both neutral colors that compliment the bedroom.
This was the process we went through for the living area, hallways, and all the way up the stairs. We used the dark color (Mocha Accent) to complement the circled color (Accessible Gray).
Gracie's first fall game.
In addition to trying to get our house done, Gracie is playing softball and Nick is coaching. I got a picture with both of them. The first night was good and Gracie got to pitch. I think she also got on base every time. They had fun and had cupcakes in between games for her birthday!

On the mound
The following day was Gracie's birthday!
We spent the evening in Ashland with my parents. We brought hamballs down in a crock pot. There are a few outlets that are working, so we took advantage. Gracie and Owen had fun on the trampoline and with their new bow net for hitting and pitching. I think the birthday girl was happy!
More painting!
This is the office/piano room. A very pretty color of blue.
Yellow in the mud room.
Not quite done in this pic, but it's done now.
First football game!
We took a break from painting for a few hours on Saturday to go to the first home Mizzou football game. Nick came up to see us for a little bit. It was a beautiful day, but got a little warm with no breeze in the stadium. The Tigers came out on top in a high scoring game.

Owen and Mom
After the game, we stopped for ice cream then went back to painting. We painted until dark again before packing up to head home. We got a lot done and just needed Nick to come with scaffolding to finish the stairwell and vaulted area. We lit a fire when we came home and sat outside for awhile.
It was a long day.
Almost done!
Here is the living area and front entrance before Nick did the high part that I don't do.
You can see the blue office area in the far room.
Gracie and Owen are "helping." This is safe, right Nick?

Kitchen area is done. Look at my straight lines!
At least they look straight from a far away.
Thanks for marking them for me Nick!
All Done!!!
All of the lighting should go in this week and I think Nick said that they would start on trim work (casing and baseboard). We should have a garage door by mid week and then we'll start moving stuff down since we'll have a locked up house. We will get the cabinetry ordered and the floors should be ready to install as soon as the house is ready. This month is going to fly by! We still need to get the fence secured for horses and eventually we'll have the barn built; hopefully before it gets cold.
The kids also went to Southern Boone's open house for school this past week. They met their teachers and walked around the school. They were pretty excited to see where they will be going in a few weeks. Southern Boone starts on Tuesday, but the kids will keep going to Columbia until we get moved down there. Soon!!!
