Progress So Far in April

There has been some progress that we were happy to see after about a week of rain.  These pictures were taken between April 1 and April 13, so quite a bit was done in a 2 week period.  The last pictures were taken a week ago, and I'm hoping that they've been working this week.  We haven't had time to drive down because of everything else that's going on.  Maybe tonight.  Even in that two week span, you can see how the background had gone from gray to green!

April 1

The forms were constructed and ready for concrete to be poured for basement walls.  This angle is from the southwest corner of the house.  The back opens to a walkout.

A view looking toward the back of the house.  As you can see, it was a muddy mess for awhile.

Another view from the back.

We took River out to visit when he stayed with us.

This view is looking north toward the front of the house. The garage will be on the west side, but has not been poured yet.

Another picture of Nick and the kids.

April 6

The concrete walls were poured for the basement this week.  There was still a lot of mud and water, but it had dried up a lot.

Another picture of the front

Nick and the kids walking around the basement wall.  This would later be backfilled.

This is taken from the southeast side of the house.

Nick.  Still thinks he's 20, walking on top of walls.

We sent this picture to Deb, Gracie is looking into the guest bedroom in the basement.

Owen is standing where the guest bedroom will be.

April 13

Another week of progress.  Backfill was done and basement floor was poured after plumbing was roughed in.  The grass has turned green and trees are starting to get leaves.

The kids are playing in the basement.  The loved how it echoed.

It looks much better with a floor instead of mud puddles.  Gracie and Owen are standing where a bedroom will be.  Behind that will be a bathroom and utility room.

A picture from the front looking out the back of the walkout basement.

We will have 9 foot ceilings in the basement.

We have had another week of mostly dry weather, so hopefully there has been more work done.  I'm not sure what is to be done next, but I'm hoping that the framing gets started soon.  We'll try to get out there again in the next few days so we can post some updates.  We have a busy weekend of softball planned and a spring concert tonight at school.
