The last couple of weeks have been great.  The weather has warmed up a lot and there is not much we can complain about.  After we got back from Florida, Nick and the kids were able to take the horses out for a short ride.  Dancer wasn't very happy about Owen trying to get her to go faster, and she bucked him off and had quite a scare herself.  But they are both fine now.  I have been able to explore more trails and go hiking a few times.  Nick made a trip to Iowa to watch Olympic Trials for wrestling and then Annapolis for work.

WHOA!

This was before he got bucked off.

I have ventured out twice now into Rock Bridge State Park to go hiking and running.  It is so much bigger than I thought.  I read the trail map before heading out, but that wasn't much help.  The first time I accidentally ended up going about 7 miles and was about to do another 3 mile loop.  Luckily I ran into a woman who was out walking her dogs and directed me back to where I needed to go to find my car.  She said she could relate because she had gotten lost in there before too, but it was at dusk with her.  Then, the second time, I thought I was going on a shorter trail, and again read the trail map before heading out.  However, the trail maps seem to not be especially helpful after I've headed out to run.  I only went about 5 miles this time, but it took a lot longer.  I think I climbed about 700 feet throughout my endeavor.  I'll keep going until I feel like I know my way around.  It' amazing how many trails and how much space there is out there.

Last weekend/week I was flying solo for a few days while Nick was traveling.  First, he went to Iowa to watch Olympic Team Trials for wrestling.  One of his wrestlers from Ballard was competing and placed in the top 6.  Not bad for an 18 year old who hasn't even been to college yet.  Then Nick made a trip to Annapolis for his annual board meeting.  This was equivalent to our Miami trip last year, but I didn't go. He took some pictures and it looked pretty neat.  While he was there, I drove down to Annie and Chad's to enjoy their fish fry!

Yesterday was also a busy day.  We went to see my mom and River at the lake and then drove back to Columbia to meet one of Owen's new friends at a park.  After that we went to the spring football scrimmage for a little bit, then called it a day after stopping to get subs at Subway.

We found another awesome park on the northwest side of Columbia.  This one is called Cosmo Park and has lots and lots of soccer and baseball fields.  The play area for kids is pretty expansive and both kids said that this is their favorite so far.

Sunday funday?  Or lazy day...Today was a great day to just be outside.

Look what came up in my garden!

Just kidding!  Nick brought these home from an event at Mizzou Arena.
There's no way I could ever grow anything this beautiful.

Baseball and softball practices have both started and the kids are so excited to be playing.  Their games will start in a couple weeks.  Fun times!
