Fall Fun

September was a blur with so much stuff going on.  Like I said before, Gracie is busy with activities 3/5 days of the week.  She loves doing all of it though.  She is doing great in school and loves being in 1st grade and is getting so much better at reading.  She takes a lot of pride in her accomplishments.  Although there are times when Gracie is stubborn, she really does like to please people and has a big heart.  She and Owen both had the yearly physicals and all seems well.  Gracie has to go to the ENT, though, to have her ears checked again because she has trouble hearing certain frequencies.  We'll be doing that next week, so hopefully that turns out ok.  Otherwise, she is still really tall for her age and everything else is great.

Owen is also very active, and is so patient with waiting to do formal activities.  He can't wait to do everything like Gracie.  He is also a very healthy kid and has no problems.  He is a bit ornery and has to be reminded more often of what's appropriate at school...like no pushing, tackling or standing on furniture.  But I think his teachers like him and most days he likes going to school.  He did a unit at school on gardening and the teacher brought cucumbers to school and them how to make pickles.  They will go to the orchard as a class in a couple weeks, too.

This is another pic of us at an ISU football game.

Gracie's getting done with gymnastics and heading to soccer.  I think this is how she would prefer to dress herself on most days.  She is totally comfortable wearing a leotard all day long.  and the boots go perfectly with it, right?

A couple weeks ago we went to the apple orchard.  Owen thought it was fun to hide in the corn maze.  We were in there for probably 45 minutes.

Buried in the corn pool at Center Grove Orchard.

Fall Family trip to the Orchard.

And after caramel apples, this is what happened!  Nick had to pull pretty hard to get it out, but she was insistent that she didn't need it anymore.

Caramel apples are YUMMY!!!

Ryleigh and Gracie at another ISU game.  It was a really late kick-off, so we only stayed until about 1/2 time for this one.  I think the kids had a lot of fun, though.

I have been on break from my classes for a couple weeks and will start again a week from Monday.  I am doing my internship, which involves me going to my job plus doing online group supervision and assignments still, plus a lot of documentation for the hours that I'm accruing.  Only 5 months left until I'm DONE! Work has been ok, but pretty busy.  I'm at the high school again this year full time and back in the classroom for 3 periods every day. Nick has been supervising the wrestling room three days a week in the evenings and is organizing a fundraiser for the wrestling club.  I think he is starting on a building for Bullseye this weekend, too.  We'll see how far that gets.  In a month, the Ballard Wrestling Club for kids will start and Owen is so excited to do that this year!  Soon after that the high school will start!

We get to celebrate 12 years together this weekend.  Not sure where the years have gone and how our kids are already 4 and 6.  Seems like it couldn't be that long ago that we got married.  There is so much to be thankful for!
