Blyth Family Weekend

Image
The Blyth Family (minus Chad and Mark)    HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY GRANDMA JEANNE!!!!    Owen and Gracie helped blow out the candles   Grandma Jeanne turned 90 on September 11 and we celebrated with the whole family over the weekend.  It was so great to be able to get together with everyone.  We are so thankful to have such a great lady to look up to and who cares so much about her family.  We love you so much!   Mom, Dad, and Annie came up and stayed in Iowa for the entire weekend.  Annie stayed with us and the kids were so excited to have her here.  Gracie asked her if she could stay forever, but she had to go back home on Monday. The kids got to show her they can tumble and dance, swing and play volleyball. We went to the game on Saturday (without the kids) and Annie and I got to go on a date on Sunday night to La Fuente in Ames.  It was a great weekend! Annie and me at the ISU footba...

Labor Day

Image
We got to spend Labor Day this year with the Merrills.  That was fun for the kids, as well as for myself and Nick.  We helped load hay into the barn and Nick took the kids out on the horses for awhile.  It was a beautiful day this year; not too hot, like the previous week had been.  Of course, that has all changed again.      Gracie is riding by herself in the ring.  She has Grandma Deb right next to her, but doesn't need a whole lot of help.  She's learning how to make the horse go, stop, and how to turn.  Nick leads when they go outside the ring, but Gracie does pretty well.    Nick and Owen on Thunder    Tony on Bullseye    All of them heading out to the back pasture.  When they got back, Gracie got off and Owen had a turn riding by himself.  Nick led him around with Thunder, of course.  They look so good; it's fun to watch.   Heading out...

Happy Birthday Gracie!

Gracie pretty much had a full weekend of activities for her birthday.  She started off on Friday opening presents at home with our family and going out to eat at the country club for her actual birthday.  Saturday we prepared for the first ISU game, but prior to that we spent a couple hours in the afternoon on the lake swimming and tubing.  The kids had a great time and I actually got to sit out in the sun for the first time in a long time.  It was a nice, hot day for it.  Perfect!  Here are some pics from the game.     Gracie and Owen getting ready to go    Gracie took her friend Raegan with her to the game.  They had so much fun, but were pretty tired.  We stayed until about the beginning of the 4th quarter.  The game was not good, but I'm glad we got to go. Here is a picture of all three of them at the game. It was really hot, but it didn't start until 7pm, so we only had to sit in the...
