Miranda & Dierks

I know it's been a couple weeks ago, but here are a few pictures from the Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley concert that we went to.  It was during the middle of a snow storm, but we made it anyway.  Just wish my sister could have made it up from Missouri.  Nick, of course, was working at it, but a lot of our friends went, so we had fun.

These are a couple pictures of the kids finger painting at home.  Owen ended up painting all over himself, but I guess that's expected.

We also went to the water park a week ago, which was great for the kids.  We spent one night in Des Moines.  It was a much needed break from all the yucky weather we have been having this winter.  I didn't get many pictures but I think Nick has a couple on his phone.  They don't turn out very well whenever we go to the indoor water park.  When we were getting ready to go, Owen came downstairs in his swim shorts, Gracie's purple swim top, goggles and wrestling shoes.  He was ready to go!  It was pretty funny.

The day after that I took Gracie with me to Ogden for Cassie and Joslyn's baby shower.  It was good to see so many people from my hometown.  Gracie was very excited to see Ryleigh, as well.  She went home with Grandma Deb that night for a sleepover.  Then Sunday, we had the wrestling banquet at the high school to wrap up the year.

This past weekend we took the kids to Incredible Pizza in Urbandale for the first time.  It was a great place and there were a lot of games for both Owen and Gracie to do.  We rode the go-carts, played air hockey, played some games, and they even tried bowling.  Owen wasn't quite big enough for some of the stuff, but he had fun anyway.

Nick and I went out to the Casino Night in Huxley at the Country Club.  It's sponsored by a local organization to raise money for the schools.  It includes auctions and gambing with fake money, followed by a dance.  That was a lot of fun, maybe a little too much fun for some.

Today, we have another snowy day.  School was called off again for Ballard, so we will officially be going to school all the way through May, a week later than planned.  This will be a very short week, though, as we have conferences both Wednesday and Thursday, and then start spring break on Friday.  I'm heading down to Missouri with my Grandma, Gracie, and Owen to see my parents.  Nick will be working in Des Moines, preparing for NCAA wrestling, which starts next week.  Unfortunately, my sister won't be in Missouri, either, as she is heading to Mexico.  It will be good to see my parents, though, and I'm glad my Grandma is able to ride along.  Hopefully the weather down there is better than here.

I'm in the last week of my current class for grad school.  It has flown by and was not as difficult as previous classes.  Next quarter might not be as easy, taking two classes again.  I'm not really looking forward to it, but it works out for the best.  I will be done with all of my classroom work in less than a year!  I'm starting to see the light and I'm sure the next year will go very quickly.  I can't believe I attend my second residency already in August this year.
