It has been a long, long time since I have updated our blog. Here is our short vacation to the Ozarks that we took a couple weeks ago. We had so much fun down there and it was so nice to be able to stay for three whole days. Annie and Chad drove down with me an the kids and Nick joined us a day later because he had to work. Gracie, Owen, and I spent all the time that we could either swimming in the pool or lake and on the boat. The weather was pretty hot, but that didn't matter.
We celebrated my dad's 60th birthday while we were there and also got to see some of our friends we haven't seen for a long time. I think I would've stayed even longer if I could've. It's very easy to get used to being in the water every day.
The first day, it took Owen little while to figure out the life jacket and how to keep himself upright in the water, but by the end of the day he was a pro and didn't mind floating around in the water instead of clinging to me. Gracie also became more comfortable with being in the shallow end of the pool without her life jacket. She learned to kick and paddle to where she wanted to go. I need to keep taking them all the time so they don't forget how to maneuver in the water. They both love swimming an jumping into the water. Both are willing to go off the side of the boat and wanted to do it over and over again.
The last day we were there, we had a fun day at Reefers' house and got to do more swimming. Owen was a bit tired, but after a nap, was ready to go again. It was great to see everyone!
