Memorial Day Weekend

 On the boat Owen on the beach  Nick and Owen Gracie on the tube Memorial Day weekend was fun and exhausting at the same time.  Friday Nick went down to get his mom's boat from her while I enjoyed my first day off for the summer by doing homework for school.  Friday evening was spent getting ready for the weekend. On Saturday, I did my long run in the morning and Nick got the boat ready to go for later in the afternoon.  The kids spent most of the day outside and then after Owen's nap we headed down to Saylorville for the rest of the afternoon/evening.  Our neighbors went with us.  All of the kids loved playing on the beach and going for a boat ride.  It was pretty windy, which made the water pretty rough, but we all had a good time.  The water was also a bit cold, but the kids did not seem to mind all that much.  Owen was even willing to play in it.  After we got back that night, we went to our neighbo...

Finally Summer Break!

 Nick's rock  A day's work  Park in Bode, IA  Dad's turn Monkey see, monkey do I can't believe it has already been a month again since my last post.  We have kept pretty busy.  Mother's Day weekend Nick's mom brought up some plants and flowers to do some landscaping, so we spent a day doing that.  That same day, Nick went down to her house to bring back his giant rock that he dug out with their tractor.  We had to use the flat bed to get it here.  It was a very productive day and the front of the house looks much better than it did before.  Since then, Nick has also finished the steps on the front porch.  During May, the kids and I also made a trip up to Manchester to see Nick's sister and her kids.  It was a fun day for all the kids and we got a lot accomplished for Mary's wedding.  We made mints and chocolates and got to talk about some of the details.  While we were there, Nick got some s...
