Ready to Paint
There has been lots of progress on the house since my previous post. All of the interior trades are pretty much done. The insulation is almost done and the septic was done this week. The electric was trenched to the house, the roof is finished and the siding has been started. There is a furnace and the gas lines have been run throughout the house. The master bath/shower is in and the upstairs tub/shower is in. The drywall will start either tomorrow or Monday and will be complete by the end of the week. They drywall team will to texturing and priming, then we get to paint all of next weekend. We are supposed to have the painting done by Monday so they can install trim and cabinets. Things are moving along! The anticipated move-in date is November 20, which would be perfect! The next month will be busy, busy, busy!
Playing at the orchard
These are just a few pictures from our recent adventures. We spent a weekend down in Missouri to celebrate Annie's birthday. We had a REALLY good time, but kind of worn out by the end of the weekend. One of the pools at my parents' place was still open and heated, so the kids got to have fun in the water one last time before the winter. The weather was awesome, too, which helped a lot!
Things have been awfully busy and I'm afraid that it's not going to ease up until after Christmas. The kids are both doing great. They had pictures at school a couple weeks ago and we'll get to order those soon, hopefully. Owen is trying to talk more and more. I'm pretty sure he said football today when he was looking at a TV in the restaurant and sportscenter was on. Otherwise it's mmmm.... for "more" as he is signing, dat for that, I think. He does a lot of pointing toward the door because he wants to be outside ALL the time. I am looking forward to more words instead of screams and squeals. He has had another ear infection for the past couple weeks that didn't get better with the first round of antibiotics. Hopefully this concentrated prescription will do the trick. He was pretty miserable for awhile.
Gracie is doing great, too. She is my little helper. She keeps herself busy and plays with dolls, colors, and is very content by herself. She does like to entertain Owen, though, which is very convenient sometimes. Gracie wants to go out to look at our house everyday and is very excited about having her own room. She wants it to be pink and purple...hmmm... We might have to compromise. She also is looking forward to having her friend Brayden as a neighbor.
That's about all I know for now. I will try to keep up as we keep progressing with the house. But I'm afraid we will be very occupied in the coming weeks as things really start moving along with the finish work.
