We took our first drive down to the Lake to see my parents. It was long, but I'm so glad we went. Nick wasn't able to go because of wrestling, but I took one of my friends with me to help out on the drive and I am so glad I did. It would have been so much more difficult by myself. Especially with Gracie going potty on her own now. We reallyenjoyed getting to see my family and I wish we could have stayed longer. Maybe next time.
This past week has been kind of a blur. Nick stayed home all week from work and continued working on the house again. We were dismissed early from school one day and missed a day of school due to snow. We kept the kids home with us for the day, so didn't get much done on the house. I did come back from running, though and Nick had torn the sink apart in the bathroom. Owen and I have also been sick and Owen has not slept well at all. He has been so congested and has a cough again. He just can't stay healthy.
We went to the indoor waterpark in Des Moines on Friday night, which was fun. I was there for a couple hours with the kids while Nick had practice. During that time, I managed to let Gracie get away from me and she jumped in the deep pool by herself. Luckily one of my friends saw her and pulled her out. Gracie is fearless and it scares me. I don't think she was even bothered by it. I caught her running over that way again about 10 minutes after that incident. So that's my goal this summer: teach Gracie to swim or stay out of water that's over her head.
Nick had wrestling all day on Saturday. I was going to go, but decided to just stay home with the kids instead. The meet lasted a lot longer than I thought it would though and Nick didn't get home until after 7pm. It was nice to just stay home, but again, I spent most of my time playing with the kids and didn't get much accomplished. Neither of them took very good naps. :(
Owen is getting so good at sitting by himself. He still falls over sometimes, but has gained so much balance in just the past couple weeks. He rolls all over still and is starting to scoot a little bit. Still not crawling, though. He also hasn't had any teeth come through, which is kind of surprising. He is drooling and chewing constantly. I can feel little bumps on his gums, but we're still waiting. Other than being sick and struggling to sleep at night, he is pretty happy. He loves Gracie and laughs at her all the time. I hope they continue to get along, although I know it probably isn't likely.
Gracie is pretty much potty trained. We put a diaper on her at night and during naps, but most of the time she is dry during her naps. She has accidents once in awhile, but does pretty well. She is still such a good girl most of the time. She still gets ornary, but I think that's part of being a two year old.
I think that's about it for now. Wrestling is done in a few weeks. We have 11 that made it to districts and the team made it to regional duals which is tomorrow. State Tournament will be here before we know it. Hopefully they will make it to State Duals, also.
