New Year...
School is back in full swing and it has been busy for the first couple of weeks. Things are finally starting to settle down a little. It seems like we have been pretty busy, but I don't have very many pictures to document that. We spent New Year's Eve and Day with Nick's family, which was fun. Then on that Sunday we went skiing over in Boone. It felt so good to ski again and makes me want to go to Colorado!!! Deb came and watched Gracie and Owen and we took two of her kids with us. I think her younger kids had a lot of fun too.
We took both kids to the first home gymnastics meet last Friday. They did great. I'm so glad Gracie has learned to sit and watch events. She got to see Cy again too, although she still likes him more from afar. He must look really huge to her when he gets up close.
Last weekend Nick had a wrestling tournament in Des Moines and I went to see my dad at my grandma's with Gracie and Owen. He came back to visit for the weekend, but left on Sunday b/c of the snow we were forcasted to have on Monday. We ended up missing school on Tuesday because of it. So I got to stay home and catch up on sleep, laundry and cleaning! It didn't really seem like the snow was all that bad compared to some of the days we had last year, though.
Gracie and Owen are both doing great. Gracie entertains us every day and most of the time she is so helpful to have around. She is putting more and more sentences together and seems to learn more everyday. Owen has learned to roll around on the floor and he is getting pretty good at grabbing on to things (including my hair). He is doing about the same as far as eating and sleeping. We try to give him cereal when we eat dinner every night and he still has a bottle around 9 or 10 before we go to bed. He still wakes up periodically during the night, but most of the time the binkie fixes the problem. He had his 4 month check up on the 5th and everything looks good. His ear infection has cleared up, but he still seems to have a stuffed up/runny nose. He weighed 16 lbs 10 oz I think, and has grown to about 25 1/2 inches. Owen is happy most of the time, but when he gets mad, he screams!
That's about it for now I think. Nick has a wrestling tournament this weekend and then on Sunday we are taking the kids to the Ramada waterpark. There is no school and Nick doesn't have work on Monday, but I have to come in for teacher meetings...boo! It will be a fun time, though, I'm sure. We will get to introduce Owen to a pool! I just wish he could sit up already. He's not quite there yet.
