Ozarks 4th
It was a pretty eventful weekend for the 4th of July. We left on Thursday to head down to the lake. We celebrated my dad's birthday, went boating, swimming, and got to see some friends. Gracie was able to play in both the pool and swim in the lake. We took a boat ride on Friday afternoon before having dinner with both my family and the Wearmouths. Saturday we went to see my mom at work, and then in the afternoon, drove over to the Reefers' to visit them. We got to go swimming again in the lake and had dinner over there. We did a lot in the little time that we were there.
Gracie was so good in the water this time. She learned how to keep her feet down with her life jacket on and was able to paddle around to where she wanted to go. She loved jumping off the side of the boat into the water. She also got comfortable laying on her back in the water, but still prefers to be on her stomach. She was good for about 45 minutes on the boat ride and then told us that she was done. She definitely doesn't like to have to sit still for that long. She also got to go out to Chad's shop and Chad pushed her around on a mini 4-wheeler after Nick took her for a ride on the big one. It was the perfect size for her. We were going to have her watch fire works with us, but she didn't make it that long. She fell asleep over at Reefers before we even got into the car. I think she was exhausted from doing so much. She also wasn't feeling the best, as she got sick later that night. She was fine, though, the next day.
She has learned everyone's names and repeats them over and over again. It's amazing what she can remember and the amount of information she absorbs. We all had a good time seeing everyone and I'm so glad that Gracie does well when we take trips like that!
