Happy Birthday Nick!
This past weekend we celebrated Nick's birthday. I surprised him by taking him and his brothers skiing at the lake just north of Huxley. I think they had a lot of fun and everyone was tired afterward. Gracie made it all day without a nap and then crashed in the middle of dinner around 6:45pm and slept for well over 12 hours. It was great. She was a champ and loved playing in the water and the sand. She even got to ride the jet ski. Then the following day we went to Nick's mom's to spend some time down there. Gracie swam in the pond and rode in the paddle boat. She also rode horses for quite awhile, but I didn't get any pictures of that. They saddled up one of the mini horses for her to ride all by herself. Then of course she rode with her dad and grandma. She is so content on anything that moves; dirt bikes, boats, horses, etc...
The weekend prior to that we celebrated father's day. We didn't really do anything special, just went to Nick's mom's again and played at the pool in Montezuma. Nick had been in Texas the week prior to that, so it was just Gracie and me for a few days. We took her to the Ames Country Club Pool when Nick got back and of course she loved that. It's nice because they have a zero depth entry for little kids like her.
We've also gone to one wedding in the past few weeks and we took Gracie to that, also. She stayed out with us until about 10:30pm and was completely happy as long as she had something to do. She loved the dance part of the reception and had tons of energy right up until she went to bed. Countless m&ms probably had something to do with that. She looked for them on every table at the reception.
Gracie is spurting out more and more words everyday and is starting to do well putting sentences together. We are looking forward to this coming weekend down at the Lake for the 4th!
