It has been two weeks since we found out we are having a boy. I attempted to put the ultrasound on our website, but failed. I might have to get Nick to help me. My doctor's appointment went fine and everything looks good with Baby Boy Britton. He was 8 oz at the time of the sonogram. We even got to see the 3D version of him. I am 20 weeks along now, so we're half way there!
That weekend we had Easter and Gracie got some neat stuff from the Easter Bunny like play dough, beads, and chocolate. We spent the afternoon down at Nick's mom's and did another Easter Egg Hunt, which was pretty entertaining. Gracie really got into it this time. She also got to play with all the toys down there, too. I'm glad it was such a nice day!
This past weekend was my big birthday party. Yep, 30, finally. My sister, her husband, and my dad came up for the weekend, which was great. I did a 5K race Saturday morning with some friends from Huxley, and did pretty well considering my medical condition. :) That afternoon and evening we had lots of people over for the party. It was so fun to get together with that many people. They all brought their kids, too. It was crazy! I'm guessing we had close to 50 people here. Nick did a fantastic job of planning, preparing, and grilling. I feel so lucky!
Gracie spent the night with Gramma so we wouldn't have to worry about her after bedtime. She had a pretty busy day, too. She probably thought the party was for her. Then on Sunday we went and picked her up and spent the afternoon down there again. We have been really lucky with all the nice days we've had so far this spring.
My mom came on Monday night and stayed in Iowa until Wednesday when she and my dad drove home together. She got to spend the day with Gracie on Tuesday. Tuesday evening, We all had dinner together, and my grandma came up with my cousin, Nick. It has been a great week, getting to see everyone. Thank you all for coming and for the birthday wishes.
This weekend I don't have a lot planned, but Nick will be working most of the day Saturday at the spring football game for ISU. Then there is an event at Hilton in the evening. Gracie and I will probably head up there for a little while to see him. We will stay pretty busy for the rest of our weekends this spring. I am looking ahead to the summer already! With only about 7 weeks of school left, I'm sure it will come very quickly. I need to start making a list of things to get accomplished during my 2 months off. It is so weird to think that I won't have to work for that long!
