Time Flies!

It has been such a long time since I've updated our blog. I can't believe it is almost mid-February. I don't have my camera with me, so I can't post any pictures right now, but I at least wanted to get something posted. The last month or so has gone by so quickly.

As many of you probably already know (or not), Nick and I are expecting our second child August 31, the day after Gracie's birthday. What a coincidence! Gracie will be a big sister, but I think she has absolutely no idea what's coming. I have finally started feeling a little bit better and less tired, but it's one day at a time. We are almost out of the first trimester already. We will find out the gender on March 31 and I can't wait!

We have otherwise been keeping busy with mostly wrestling. Ballard is still doing very well and they have districts for individual competition Saturday and they made it to state duals which will be the last weekend in February. It will be here before we know it. We have 11 of 14 wrestlers that are still competing tomorrow and are hoping that they all get through to state. But it will be tough for some of them. Next week Nick will be very busy with the tournament starting on Wednesday afternoon. I don't think I'll get to go during the week, but I will be there for finals.

Last weekend we took Gracie to the indoor waterpark in Des Moines at the Ramada Hotel. That was so much fun for her. There were 7 other families with their kids who we went with. We got there around 3:30 and Gracie was in the water from 3:45 until almost 6, and then again from 7-8:30. I have some pictures that I will post when I get a chance. She loves the water and was not afraid at all to wade around in it by herself. She also climbed up and went down one of the slides all by herself over and over again while I waited at the bottom for her. She loved the really long and curvey slides that we took her down. She is fearless!!!

Gracie has been attending all of the wrestling events with me and does pretty well. She doesn't like to sit for very long, so we have to get up and walk around. She can pull her socks off and actually put them back on now. It takes her a little while, but she can do it. She also has a pair of shoes that she can put on all by herself. She is starting to be able to eat on her own more productively and would prefer to do it by herself. She is negotiating stairs very well and rarely needs to crawl up or down them anymore. She does like to have someone's hand to hang on to, though. She is saying a few more words like sock, boot, hi, go, and yes. Her favorite word is still "no." She understands what we tell her very well and can do what we ask of her. Sometimes she chooses not to...go figure.

This weekend she will be staying with her Gramma while Nick and I go to see Tim McGraw on Saturday night. We are pretty excited about that! Then the next week will be pretty busy with wrestling and conferences at school. We were supposed to have next Friday off of school, but they decided to have school because of all the snow days that we have had. This winter has been terrible and I wish spring would come soon!

I think that is all for now. I will get some pictures posted when I get a chance.
