Busy, busy, busy!!!
I can't believe we're already halfway through August! Two weeks ago, Nick and I took a mini-vacation down to Kansas City. He had meetings down there on a Friday and I went down later in the afternoon to meet him. I met his mom to drop off Gracie and she spent the a few days down with the Merrills. It sounds like they had a great time and Gracie got to see all of her cousins again too. Nick and I also had a really good time. We got to stay at the Westin Crown Center, so there was a lot to do right there that didn't require a lot of driving. We spent one afternoon at Worlds of Fun and one evening in the Power and Light District. It was a lot of fun!
The following week, Nick and I both took off work to get more accomplished on our house. We got rid of our old furniture in the living room and replaced it with a new sofa, loveseat, and chair. We also spent a lot of time on the upstairs again, painting and staining. It is starting to look really good. We bought a shower to go in the bathroom upstairs and Nick is thinking about taking the floor out of it finally to put plumbing in. Gracie stayed at daycare while we worked on all this stuff.

I also took some time out the week to interview for a new position at Ballard Schools. An At Risk Coordinator position has opened up there and I am waiting patiently to see if I have the job. The interviews went very well, so I am hoping this will work out. I could potentially have two months off during the summer, which would be very nice!!!
Gracie has been doing her thing. She is very independent and mostly sticks to her schedule. She has developed a cold in the past week, but it doesn't seem to slow her down a lot. A friend of mine has already made her cake for her first birthday and it is waiting in the freezer. Gracie is moving pretty quickly now and keeps us on our toes. Can't believe she will be one in just two weeks. The past year has flown by!
