Six Months Old

Eating some squash
Playing with her food

Almost crawling

Gracie is now six months old and keeps herself busy. She just had her check up at the doctor's office and she is 17 pounds 8 ounces. She's gained another two pounds! She is 26 1/2 inches long, which is only about 1/2 inch bigger, but the doctor said that she's still in the 75th percentile. She got three more shots and did pretty well with them. The first one she really didn't react to, but by the third one, she was crying. It didn't last long, though.
Other than that, there is not a whole lot more to report. Nick and I have taken turns being sick during the past week. He had state duals last weekend in Cedar Rapids, which I couldn't go to because I was sick. The team ended up doing really well and winning again. I stayed home with Gracie. Luckily she is a pretty good baby and will play by herself most of the time. Gracie has started eating more real food. We have tried squash and banana oatmeal. She seems to like both of them. She makes a funny face with the squash, but still eats it. She is moving backward pretty well now. The daycare staff said that she went all the way across the room backward. She also loves the jumparoo at daycare. It's so funny to watch her bounce in that.
This past week has been nice outside. We have gotten to go for a couple walks in the stroller. Today it's raining and cold again, though. At least it's not snow. This weekend is the first in quite awhile that we haven't had wrestling. Nick is at the ISU men's basketball game today. I think we have the evening free though! I have one more week and then the students are on spring break. I will still be working, but probably won't see nearly as many kids.

Hi Sarah & Nick- Just wanted to let you know that I had grandpa sit down at the computer this morning and look at all the pictures on your blog. He was amazed and thinks Gracie is the most beautiful child. We can't wait to meet her.
Love, Aunt Liz
