Summer Competitions Come to an End

Image
It is always unbelievable how fast the summer goes.  It feels like we just started, and then all of a sudden it's done.  We made it through another summer of softball and basketball competition.  I'm pretty sure we put another 15,000 miles on our car and had to get new tires, as well.  We sure have fun, though.  Four weekends in a row during July of traveling and competition...  SE Missouri (4th of July), St. Louis, Kansas City, and then just Columbia for basketball.  I guess at least everything was within a couple of hours from home. Gracie catching during the Wentzville tournament More catching Queen of the 'Ville tournament was just a couple days after returning from our short vacation to SE Missouri.  Our game that was scheduled for Friday evening was actually forfeited because the other team didn't have enough players, so we didn't have to make that drive.  Deb decided to come down to visit that day instead of meeting us over in St. Loui...

Fun Four Day Weekend

A day (and night) at the lake... Heading out and all smiles. Saturday morning we headed to the lake to spend a day at the Porter Lake house.  Tubing, boating, swimming, eating.  I think the kids were in the water and tubing most of the day.  It was a lot of fun.  We had intended to go home and sleep at our house before heading to SE Missouri the next day, but the evening was a little more eventful than we had planned. Gracie and Nova Riding the Pegasus Ruby went with and was trying to figure out how to get out of the water. She was so funny and did so well at the lake! She figured it out. Owen tried the paddle board, but this was short-lived. Swimming with Ruby Nova and Gracie are pretty funny. Love these two. Tubing! I think the kids spent about 3 hours being pulled on the tube.  I would've been exhausted. They got the hot dog out too. All four kids... Gracie, Nova, Kegan, and Owen We ended up having dinner down there and taking the boat out for ice cream later...
