The Holiday Season

It's the most wonderful time of the year, or so they say.  It's definitely a busy time of the year, every year.  That seems to remain constant.  This is the time of year that I put my patience pants on and remember how blessed I am.  We have so many things to be thankful for and it's easy to get distracted by all of the stress that this season brings with it.  I try to be respectful of others' experiences and recognize that this time of year is not enjoyable for all.  I like to reflect and look forward, always making myself better and remembering that being kind and thoughtful can pay dividends to both the giver and the receiver.  So here we are; another holiday season is upon us.  Thanksgiving to the New Year. It seems to pass more quickly every year. Annie and Chad joined us with their family, as well as my parents, for Thanksgiving.  This is my favorite holiday by far.  I love hosting at our house and it's such a laid back day....

Winter Begins

Yep, it's been a long time again and I haven't updated. I just realized that I hadn't published these pictures for all to see.  This dates back to the end of October.  I can't believe we are already into the 2nd week of December and almost done with the fall semester.  It has gone so quickly! These are the mushrooms that we created for the Smurf's theme at Monster Bash. They would have been part of our dugout decorations. Unfortunately it never happened, as the weather did not cooperate.  Oh, well.  Maybe next year.  It was a very anticlimactic end to the season. Halloween!  Gracie wore her penguin costume again this year.  She was very undecided on a costume and decided to wear it trick or treating at the last minute. Owen went as a Dementor from Harry Potter. Pretty scary. They were a bit tired after the evening. I can't remember exactly when this happened, but we had a fun night of burning stuff.
