Thanksgiving and After

Image
We were able to have family at our house for Thanksgiving again. But this year we had a little more space than last.  It was a good day and I was so happy to have everyone here.  It was a warm enough day to play outside for awhile and there were lots of different rides given; 4-wheeler, dirt bike, horses.  I baked my second pumpkin pie ever and made apple pie sangria again.  It's still not gone, but still tastes great!  Maybe we need MORE people to help eat and drink! Proud of my pie and beverage! 4-wheeler ride with Nick All of us ready to eat turkey!  What a great day! Gracie with Kaia Grandma Kate with River and Kaia Gracie is helping Nick mash the potatoes Mom and Dad enjoying the day Kaia got to meet all the horses. Annie took Kaia for a walk.  She forgot her carrier, so Nick rigged a string bag to hold Kaia in. It didn't last very long.  I think the real one would've worked better. Owen and...

Winter Activities Have Begun

Image
We visited Iowa two weeks ago while Deb was there.  Gracie, Owen, and I drove up to Stephanie's and spent some time with the family. We also visited Annie's a couple weeks ago.  Chad took Owen for a short dirt bike ride, which Owen enjoyed.  He was all smiles.  It was fun to see all of them.  We hadn't seen them since we were in Iowa back in September, and we hadn't been all the way down to Annie's since earlier in the summer. Awards at school Gracie won the award for her class in November for "Rising to Excellence."  Owen also won an award, but I didn't get a picture of him.  He won the November award for "Musicianship."  The music teacher seems to like his interest and ability to sing. Gracie and Owen each had a concert last week. Grac...

After a Month...

Image
I cannot believe that it is November already.  The past month has flown by.  I feel like we haven't accomplished a lot, but we actually have.  It just doesn't seem like much because it is little things that are getting done bit by bit.  I haven't taken any outside pictures because the house still looks the same out there.  The first two weeks in our house were consumed by organizing and putting up fence so our horses could join us.  Gracie finished up softball, Owen finished up football and we are starting basketball and wrestling now.  The kids are adapting to their new school district and they seem to love living in our new house, despite it not being finished. Gracie got to be the bat girl for Mizzou softball on 10/28.  She spent the whole day at the softball field and was probably in heaven.  The only down side was the cold weather.  I don't think the temperature made it above 40 degrees that day. After Gracie's day of...
